Three children of the John Henry Cadwallader/Mary Jane McClellan(d) family married Clarks. I believe all of these marriages were in Adams County as that is where the Cadwallader family was living. Robert Henry married Sarah Jane Clark on November 4, 1884, in Adams County. Alverna B. Cadwallader married Warren S. Clark, date and place unknown. Effie E. Cadwallader married William O. Clark, date and place unknown. Logic would indicate that these Clarks were siblings, but I have not been able to definitely determine a Clark family for any of the three.

Sarah Jane Clark Cadwallader died in 1904, with the children put out on their own or sent into foster care. In 1908, Selma Cadwallader (my mother) was living with the James N. Clark family in South Webster, Scioto County, Ohio. A postcard to Selma, in 1908, would indicate that James N. Clark was her grandparent, or related closely enough that she would know how the grandparents were doing.

Sarah Jane is buried in the Jaybird Cemetery, Franklin Township, Adams County, Ohio, if my information is correct.

Any help in identifying these various Clarks would be greatly appreciated.
