JO: I am a descendand of John S. Evans b. 1802 KY wife is Catherine. They can be found in the Adams County Census (Jefferson Twsp) from 1850,60,70, & 80. Their son, James, married Elizabeth Swearingen. Their son, Wayne B. Evans, b. 1871 married Mary Bishop Thompson.\
Their are several researchers who believe that the Newman family and Evans family of Adams county have united on several occasions. It is believed that John S. Evans daughter, Nancy, married Richard Newman of Adams Co.
