Ir has been awhile since I posted anything to the list. Looking for any
info on the following:

Thomas Gardner Lewis (s/o Thomas Powers Lewis and Elizabeth Thompson}, b. 28
Mar 1804 in KY (probably Mason Co) m. Sousannah Brogden Hall (d/o Elisha
Hall and Nancy True) b. 14 Apr 1808 in KY (probably Mason Co) m. abt. 1825
in KY?
I am interested in 1st daughter, Nancy R. Lewis b. 28 Apr 1828 in Adams Co
OH. m. 10 Jan 1847 James Nathaniel Willis.
James was the s/o Joseph Willis and Elenor Montgomery, who were married in
Adams Co 14 Mar 1816, but moved to Fayette Co OH. James came back to Adams
Co to find his bride. The couple had six children. Samuel Nathaniel
Willis b. 9 Aug 1863 followed his father's lead and returned to Adams Co for
a bride, Sabry L. Matilda Price b. 3 Oct. 1871 in Adams Co (d/o William
Price and Elizabeth Cook)
My interest is James and Nancy's daughter, Ellen b. abt. 1859 m. in Ross
Co M. Francis Holdren. Ellen and "Frank" had two children, Joseph Harley
Hauldren, a long time resident of Adams Co and Mary Belle Wamsley, adopted
d/o Samuel Bolten Wamsley of West Union.
After James'wife Nancy died he returned to Adams Co with divorced daughter,
Ellen and her two children. Ellen then had two more sons by another man.
She died when the youngest was only five weeks old and he was raised by a
brother of Matilda Price. I found him listed in the 1900 census listed as
Louis Derrough. This is the only clue I have to the identity of Ellen's
second husband. Louis took the name Lewis Price and lived out his life in
Bracken Co, KY, his brother, James was raised by a Reynold's family and
lived his life in Adams Co. (Joseph) Harley m. Mary Teegarden, Mary
Wamsley changed her name to Marie and alternatly used the Wamsley and
Holdren suname. She married Samuel Fisher Swanger in Mason Co, KY.
Samuel was the s/o Philip Swanger and Mary Elizabeth Lloyd. Philip and Mary
were m. in Adams Co. Mary was the d/o David Lloyd and Nancy Haines of
Liberty Twp.
Would love to hear from anyone researching any of these families. While I
have a lot of info on the ancestors of both Samuel and Marie, there are many
brick walls that I have not yet brought down!
