This summer's issue of "Our Heritage," the newsletter put out by the Adams County Genealogical Society, has a list of children in the Wilson Children's Home as of December 14, 1885. This list went to the newspaper for ask people to help Santa Claus provide gifts. There are several McGowan children listed:

Agnes McGowan, 11
Eva McGowan, 10
Bertha McGowan, 7
Albert McGowan, 2
