I have obtained death certificates from the Ohio Historical Society at
<http://www.ohiohistory.org/dindex/search.cfm>; . You can search online
for what's available. Sometimes you have to be a bit inventive, since
some of the names are pretty scrambled. Must have used a computer to read
the records.
Vital records are also available at the Ohio Department of Health at
<http://www.odh.state.oh.us/>; . I have not used this one yet, since I
haven't figured out how to get an UNcertified copy. Good way to piece your
family together when there is no birth certificate, but the information is
just as good as the "informant," so errors do creep in. Especially when a
son, for instance, is telling where his grandmother and grandfather were
