Ethelene Samons, 76, died at 5:45 a.m. Dec. 12, 2004, at her residence.
She was born Dec. 18, 1927, in Estill, Ky., to Josephas C. and Hazel Roop Van
Hoose, who preceded her in death. On June 28, 1947, she married Arliss W.
Samons, who died Sept. 16, 1999.
Mrs. Samons was a homemaker and had been a receiving clerk at Montgomery
Ward.
Survivors include a daughter, Ginger Ann (Steve) Dankirt of Lima; a son,
Randy Samons of Cridersville; two grandsons, Travis and Justin Samons; and a
sister, Dorothy Tackett of Martin, Ky.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Jo Van Hoose; and a brother,
Dencil Van Hoose.
A short prayer service and entombment will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday at
Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum.
There will be no visitation.
Memorial contributions may be made to Perry Township Fire Department and
Rescue Squad or St. Rita's Hospice.
Arrangements are by Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville.
