I would like to exchange stories of Ashland/Wayne County Ohio parties who
went to California to find GOLD!!!!

I have a hand written letter/diary by John EAGLE of Reedsburg, OH. It is
dated Nov. 23, 1851 and describes life in the Diamond Springs Gold Camp in
California. Many names of relatives and friends appear. e.g.:

Ephraim DIEHL
Wm. and Peter HELBERT
Thomas WILSON
Joseph SORDS
Isaiah MILLER
Joe SMITH
Michael and Sarah Eagle HEICHEL

Dr. Ted EAGLE

John EAGLE stayed in California 10 years and was still at the Diamond
Springs Gold Camp for the 1860 Census.
