Further investigation leads me to believe that Thomas SELBY, who died in
Amanda Twp., Fairfield, Ohio in June 1820, is the father of the Thomas SELBY
who was born about 1782 and died in Mifflin Twp., Ashland County, Ohio on 20
September 1868 and was married to Catherine HAY and later Matilda Ann DISNEY.
He was also most likely the father of Ralph SELBY who died about 1815 in
Fairfield County, Ohio and who was married to Peggy CARPENTER.

In his will dated 6 June 1820 and presented to Probate on 29 June 1820, the
elder Thomas appoints his wife Ann as sole exetrix. In this will, he names
his daughters Ratchel, Nancy, Elyzbeth and Arabella and sons Thomas, Ralph,
Joseph and Laurence. He leaves each of them Twenty five Cents.

Who is this elder Thomas Selby?

I have considerable material on the younger Thomas and his descendents that I
willing to share. Would like to make contact with other descendents of the
elder Thomas.
