I live in Columbiana County Ohio, just about five miles from Fredericktown in this county. It is a very small, historic, more of a hamlet-type community that sits on the PA border. It is located in a deep valley with a church and many old homes that most have been kept up.
Beaver Creek, a national and state wild and scenic river, runs through town. The large hills are fully forested and, in my opinion, the best for "leaf peeping" anywhere around. This area is also excellent for birdwatchers in May and June, especially.
There used to be an old mill on the stream, but only remnents are still there. This area has been sold to the state of Ohio and is to become Beaver Creek State Forest in the near future. Fredericktown will be sitting right about in the middle of it.
There is a book that was written about the history of this Fredericktown and should be available in local libraries.
