I am researching my relatives. The Blacks and Conners
Marion Newton Conner was the marshall of Nelsonville and was a mason he
wored on the presb. church there. He married Caroline Roberts and Theodora
Bridge, with Theodora he had
my grandmother Bessie May. He married Theodora on October 30, 1869, his
sisters were Lucetta Conner Brodt and Sophia Steenrod, brother Anson
Hilliard, and John evermont Conner killed in the civil war. This
information was in the Valley Register, August 18, 1910.

My grandfather Benjamin Nathan Black had a sister Elizabeth (Lewis) married
to Manson Lewis
and they owned the hotel Athens.He was born 2/27/1856 in Floodwood.

He and my grandmother lived in the Athens Nelsonville area their whole
lives.
They had nine children. One died in the flu epidemic in 1918.
