I'm researching my Lewis line in Athens County. My 2nd great grandfather,
John Lewis, was born about 1835 in Virginia. I believe his middle initial
was A. He married Nancy M. Lewis (daughter of Abner Lewis and Joanna
Grimes) on 9 August 1862 in Athens County. They had 8 children: Edward S.
1862, Rowena 1862, Rosa B. 1865, Sarah 28 January 1869, Richmond Randolph
27 June 1871, Caroline 27 September 1873, Eliza 1877 and Evaline 1879.
John and Nancy were still in Athens County in 1880 in Athens Township.
Does anyone have any information on this family? I'd like to find our for
sure who John's parents were. I suspect who they were, but I'm not certain
I'm correct. Any information would be appreciated.
