To Sandy and the list,

Bravo to all of you who stood up for Sandy when James Crippen tried to
bring her down. I got started in researching because I was curious about
where my family came from. I take offense that Crippen stated I was a "net
jockey interested in family history only as a vehicle for self elation and
private esteem". What nerve! My ancestors were farmers, coopers and
blacksmiths. They weren't rich by any means, and they survived by on the
sweat of their brows. Since Crippen's ancestors came over on the
Mayflower, I guess that makes him feel superior to the rest of us. I see
nothing wrong with putting public records on a web site, as long as it
doesn't contain creative material, as Diane stated. Most of us can't go
directly to the sources to do research since money is an issue, so why not
make the sources available to us on the web? Then we can sort out what we
want and order the documents from the courthouse. Keep up the good work,
Sandy!

Cynthia
