Go to www.nara.gov and you will find all the information you need as well as
being able to order or download some of the forms. There are different
procedures for obtaining records of a living vs. deceased veteran. I will
warn you -- due to the fire at NPRC, St Louis, in 1973, the records you're
looking for may not be available. I tried to get my Grandpa's WW I records
and they had been destroyed; but since I had his original discharge order
and pay record, they wanted what I had. The pay records are located in D.C.
archives and I was able to get those.
