Yes, from my reading of the history of Auglaize County, there was an outbreak
of cholera in 1849 that killed at least 150 of the 700 citizens in German
Township of Auglaize Co. My Great-great-great-grandfather died in August of
1849 in New Bremen, so I figure that he was one of the victims of the cholera.
