The Mercer Co. Marriage Books A & B (1823-1849) lists a marriage for Jonathan BODKIN to Mrs Roseann DOUTE on Mar 2, 1844. Why is she listed as "Mrs."? Was she married before, so that Doute is not her maiden name? Did she have kids from a previous relationship? Any ideas appreciated.
