Hey all! Just joined the list as a result of meeting with some success
searching the archives on Rootsweb. Back in January, Kathy was good enough
to post some Fox birth/death information for Auglaize Co. One of them Leah
F. Fox, I believe was my GGG-GM.

Frederic William Fox immigrated from Baden-Baden in 1863 or 1853 and farmed
in Logan, OH the rest of his life. I haven't managed to connect him to any
other Foxes in Auglaize at that time.

His wife's name was Leah (sometimes Layer).Then I've got some conflicting
facts:
- According to Allen Co marriage records Frederic William Fox married Leah
Williams in 1863 (from IGI).
- My grandmother wrote down that her great-grandmother was Mrs. Jacob Herring.
- And Frederic's son Albert lists Samuel Herring as an uncle
- Leah Williams married Elias Welker Howell in March 1861.
- Charles Wilson [sp?] stepson of Frederic was born about 1861

The oldest son John was born in 1856 (well before Frederice & Leah's
marriage) and died in 1924. I've written for a copy of his death
certificate to see what it says for a mother's name. It's likely Frederic
had multiple wives.

In the meantime, if you have any suggestions to help connect the dots, I'd
love to hear them Thanks for the help so far!
