Ann,
As far as I know there was never a newspaper published IN Washington Twp.,
Auglaize Co. The "local" newspapers were published in St. Marys and
Wapakoneta. Both the St. Marys Public Library and the Wapakoneta Auglaize
Co. Public Library have old newspapers either on microfilm or bound
editions of many old newspapers. The Auglaize Co. Genealogical Society
has published abstracts of obits and death notices which are a big
help...and I think those years are covered in the publications.
Churches in Washington Twp. were (and still are) in New Knoxville. There
are almost complete records from the United Church of Christ (then the
German Evangelical & Reformed Church), but the early records from the
Methodist Church are not known to exist.
I have copies of many of those church records...could I help you find
something?
