I think I have an answer to your question. These are two differnet familes.
I am also researching this family, the Aufderhaars, Bielefelds, Wierwills
and Rodheffers in this area. There are many instances where the husbands and
wifes of different familes have the same first names. And most families have
daughters named Sophia, it must have been popular. It makes it very
difficult to follow families.

I have the birth of two Katterheinrich children in New Knoxville to Herman
Katterheinrich and wife Sophia. One appears to be the child of Herman
Katterhinrich and wife Sophia Schroer and the other the child of Herman
Katterhinrich
and wife Sophia Katterheinrich.

They are
(1) Mary Ann Katterhinrich born 9 Aug 1876, who married Chester Schultz
(2) Flora Christian Katterheinrich b 21 Jun 1876 who married Christian
Friedrich Schroer
I have received conflicting information. Can anyone give me definitive
information to distinguish their parentage.
