TSD 28 Jan 1868
At the late term of Court, Francis Miller was arraigned charged with assalt
and battery upon the person of Joseph Wehr. Plea: "not guilty" The finding
of the jury was "Guilty" The Court sentenced Miller to pay a fine of
$20.00, pay the costs of prosecution and be confined in the county jail ten
days.

TSD 1 Dec 1868
On 22nd ult. a horse was stolen from John Miller near Beallsville. The
thief passed through this place and Graysville & crossed into VA at Tuel's
ferry about 12 o'clock Monday the 23rd ult. From Sistersville he took the
clay pike inot the interior. On Tuesday, Miller & constable Foutty of
Jackson twp, accompanied by three other gentlemen, crossed into VA in
pursuit. They followd him until Wed. noon, when they arrested him in
Dodridge Co., 76 miles from the river. He gave his name as James Doss.

John Doss confined in our jail for stealing a horse the property of Mr.
Miller of near Beallsville, arraigned 23rd inst., plead guilty, sentenced to
Penitentiary for 5y.
