A word about census records. When the census taker was finished with the
census, he had to make 2 copies of his work. One for the state and one for
the fed's and one was kept in the area. Since kinko's wasn't on the cornor,
you can guess why there are so many discrepencies, then at the fact that
maybe he was french and listening to german. Be liberal with your surname
spelling. Sometimes the ancestor's surname is not what you expect it to be.
A friend of mine was looking for Rutter and finally found it spelled Butler.
She was lucky to have found it at all. But even so what would we do with out
them.
