Hi,
I'm trying a new approach to a brick wall I am working on. Hoping
someone on the list can help!

I have an 1810 marriage performed in Belmont County by William Sinclair,
Justice of the Peace. Can anyone tell me in what part of the county he
was located?

My second question concerns the company raised by Absalom Martin during
the War of 1812. The Roster of Ohio Soldiers in the War of 1812
indicates that it was from Guernsey or Belmont County. Does anyone know
any specifics about the company? Is there any degree of common
geography among the members? I don't have the whole company list in
front of me but the senior personnel were Capt Martin, Lt Hutchison,
Ensign Shuman, Sgt Broton, Sgt Scadan, Sgt Mullen, Sgt Israel, Corp
Donouer, Corp Edwards, Corp Davis, Corp Wolford, Drummer DeBatnon, Fifer
Milner. Other names are Atkinson, Burys, Bowers, Carnes, Brown, Berry,
Bell, Cogle, Beard, etc. I realize they probably came from all over but
have hopes that these may be names that were concentrated in a specific
area or township(s)...

Thanks,
Nancy
