Donna,
The file that they are talking about is a software. You cannot scan it and send it as an attachment. What you can do is click on this web link to Adobe.com and download it there for free. http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html
What is Adobe Acrobat Reader: Adobe® Acrobat® Reader® is free software that lets you view and print Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) files. With Acrobat Reader, you can also fill in and submit Adobe PDF forms online. And now, Acrobat Reader for mobile devices lets you view Adobe PDF files on the go. By downloading software from the Adobe Web site you agree to the terms of our license agreement. Please read it before downloading. You will receive the most recent version of Acrobat Reader that is available for your language and platform.
Now, there are system requirements for your computer to run this program and it depends on if you are using a Windows or Mac operating system. Here are the requirements for both:
Acrobat Reader 5.0 system requirements Windows
Intel Pentium processor
Microsoft Windows 95 os 2.0, Windows 98 SE, Windows Millennium Edition, Windows NT 4.0 with Service Pack 5, Windows 2000, or Windows XP
64MB of RAM
24MB of available hard-disk space
Additional 70MB of hard-disk space for Asian fonts (optional)
Macintosh
PowerPC® processor
Mac OS software version 8.6(*), 9.0.4, 9.1, or Mac OS X(*)
64MB of RAM
24MB of available hard-disk space
Additional 70MB of hard-disk space for Asian fonts (optional)
If your computer does not meet these requirements, DO NOT QUIT! There are the earlier versions of Adobe that were made for older computers but....(There is always a but) you have to realize that they are older and not as robust as 5.0. The problem that you "may" find with the older versions is some of the web sites may be built only for the newer versions and are not backward compatible depending on who built it and how friendly he was to older computers.
So, check out the web site and follow the simple step by step process that describes the download and installation. If all else fails, e-mail me and we can set up a time to talk it over on the phone but....NEVER GIVE UP!
I hope that this has been some help!
Regards,
Mike Wood
