I live in TX and we were up in the Ohio area for a month dealing with
family, so I had a chance to do some research.
I physically went to the Mt. Calvary cemetery, just down the road from
Greenwood. The caretaker's house was empty--I don't know if they were just
working on it, or if he has moved or died, or what. But a kid mowing at the
house nextdoor said that as far as he knew, the records had been sent to the
Greenwood caretaker, and he pointed down the road.
I knocked at the door (I could hear dogs barking and didn't know if they
were in or out, and I'm always terrified in these country situations that I
will get shot or bit!) and a woman finally came to the door. I could hear
the several dogs barking inside, and she was being knocked around by them as
she tried to talk to me through the cracked door. The smell of dogs was
pretty bad. She shouted at me that the Catholic records were held by the
diocese now, and shut the door.
When I got back to the car, I wished I had asked her to check and just
see if my people might be there in the Protestant cemetery, as some of the
family was, but frankly, I felt like it would not have done any good. She
seemed to have her hands full, and I figured she would make an excuse.
Sorry to be offensive if I am, I just wish someone else had the
records -- I have a feeling that writing will do you no good, but let's see
what others have to say.

> I have relatives buried in the Greenwood Cemetery in Bellaire (?) and have
tried to contact the cemetery many times, by phone (left message on machine)
and by mail, and have never gotten a response. This is over a period of at
least 6 months. Does anyone know how can get in touch with the cemetery to
determine grave location and the possibility of tombstones and/or monuments
for my ancestors? Thanks in advance.
