YOU would probably believe it, but others look at us like we have two heads
when we say we have 23 DOCUMENTED ways of spelling one of my husband's
family the Fanshiers. Fanchoo, Fanchee, Faunchee,etc.,etc.. And bless our
ancestors little hearts for using their MIDDLE NAMES!! My grandfather was
named John Richard Elias Perkins and signed everything J.R. Perkins.
James/John - these are frequently confused/used.

There is a will for John McFadden in Ashland Co., OH dated 1860. He
mentions his son JOHN, his daughter Margaret - who is Margaret Olivia
McFadden Poulson - and his grandson James. All three of these named
McFaddens are in the 1850 Belmont County Census.in Washington Twp (Fingers
crossed)

Tracking John McFadden/s has been a 16 year adventure.
1790 and 1800 John McFadden pays taxes in Farquier Co., VA

Elizabeth, Margaret, Catharine, Nancy, Mariah and Eliza - daughters
John, Edward, Daniel, James, Henry and Cyrus - sons
James - grandson

1877 Ashland Co., OH Will for John McFadden names wife Susan
James - son
Jane Echelbarger - daughter.
(Note: there is a marriage of Adam Eichelberger b 1838 to Jane McFadden b
1842 on Ancestry.com)

There is another later will for James McFadden - wife's name not mentioned
and no children listed.

ANY information re: McFaddens in or around Belmont Co. OH will be greatly
