Hi,
I believe I read somewhere that there was an old headstone in the old Saint
Clairsville Cemetery that was engraved in Russian. Does anyone know
anything about this? I've tried without sucess to find it in the cemetery.
An old family legend (perpetuated through the Okey's) has it that my
ancestor, Jacob Nagle, was born in Russia. I frankly don't believe the
legend, having found good evidence that Jacob's father was German, but I'm
interested in the headstone, particularly whose grave it marks (or what the
characters are--my sister in law is fluent in Russian and could translate).
Any info anyone has would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
