Subject: [OHBELMON-L] Captain John Wiley

It appears that John Wiley was a captain in the War of 1812. Thanks to the
people that responded to my query.
Which leads to another question. In his will written in 1864, a mark is
indicated for his seal. This has led me to believe that he held some public office.
I recently received a copy of his estate papers which included a receipt that
he had signed, with the notation of "Clerk". Can anyone tell me if any of the
Belmont County histories list a John Wiley as County Clerk.
