I would like to thank Sue, Donna, Bobbie, Patti, Judy and all of the kind, wonderful folks on the list that responded to my request for a look up on my Filbert Family. The response was amazing and most helpful. What a great group of people on the Belmont County list!! My maternal Grandparents resided and raised their children in Belmont County, (as was I), and I still call it "Home" even though I have lived elsewhere since 1964.

Between the 1930 census and the Ohio death records on Ancestry.com for Martin and Louise Filbert, I am fairly certain this is the Great Aunt and her Family that I have been searching for during the past several years. The pieces of the puzzle are starting to come together and the old proverbial "Brick wall" is starting to crumble, thanks to the assist from the list!!

Judy was able to find the married name of one of the daughters by searching the Ohio Death Index on Ancestry using the fathers last name (Filbert). The record for LOUISE V SYRON gives the Father's Surname as FILBERT and the Mother's maiden name as FIFER with a DOB December 24, 1914 in GIRARD, TRUMBULL, Ohio and DOD February 23, 2000 in CANFIELD, MAHONING, Ohio. With this information, I have e-mailed the Library in Youngstown to obtain a copy of their obituaries, which hopefully will tie it all together. I am hoping that this weekend I can get to the library to check out the remaining daughters on ancestry.com and find a few more married names to follow up on..

My Thanks again for your wonderful responses to my request!! Your help was truly appreciated.

Subject: Need Ohio Death record lookup for Filbert

Hello,

Was wondering if anyone with access to Ancestry.com would kindly do a look up for me for the 1990 Ohio Death record for :

MARTIN J FILBERT -born 27 Jul 1906 - died 14 Dec 1990 - Last residence Mc Donald, Trumbull, OH 44437-
SS# 362-05-4879 - SS# issued in Michigan . Parents were John and Anestazea (Fifer) Filbert ?.

Would also like to find he and his family on the 1930 Census Index. If I have the location, ED and page number, I can then find it on Heritage Quest. Appears they started out in PA then moved on to Michigan ? and then thru Ohio?. I don't know if this is the same Martin from the 1910 Census and I can't get out to the library today. My curiosity is bugging me. Here is the only census information I have found:

1910 U.S. Census Pennsylvania, MERCER, WEST SALEM TWP
Series: T624 Roll: 1375 Page: 248
141 Orangeville Road May 3, 1910

Filbert, John H - 32 - m-1 9 PA Ger Ger Labor Steel Mill
Filbert, Louisa (Anastazea) W - 28 - M-1 - 9 - 3 -3 Born in PA Parents born in Germany
Filbert, Dorothy M D 5 Born in PA
Filbert, Martin S 3 (1906-07) Born in PA
Gertrude R. D 1 7/12 Born in PA

Thanking you in advance for any information anyone can provide.

Sandy
