Subject: Question about Gen. Index to Estates film...
Date: Sun, 5 Jun 2005 18:23:14 EDT

I probably know the answer to this one, but I'll pose it anyway. I'm about
to order a boatload of Belmont Co. film from the LDS. My question is: for
Belmont Co., will the General Index to Estates, Vol. 1-3, 1801-1921, show
listings for any and all estate activity, whether administrations, inventories,
wills, or what have you? I know that the folks I'm interested in didn't file
wills with the county, but I'm pretty certain there would have been some sort
of estate settlement activity for them. Estate indices in PA do this, so I
figured the same would be true in OH.

I'm also prepared to order 9 rolls of deed indices, which will cover all of
1811-1900. With these, plus the estate index, I can proceed with specific
estate books and deed books for the records referenced.
