Unfortunately the instruments used to measure and perhaps predict an
earthquake are out of my budget so I guess I have very little choice but
to rely on the government and being prepared. I also think it may be
easier to move out of the path a hurricane than an earthquake.
Speaking of genealogy, there was an earthquake in or near the New Madrid
fault circa 1886. The Barnesville Enterprise reported it on the same
day an obit appears in the newspaper for my relative.
