An early marriage record for my ancestor was 'non-existent' when I first
checked at courthouses and with Genealogy Societies in the
Adams-Brown-Clermont-Mason area many years ago, several Adams-Brown-Clermont
professionals weren't aware of any such record in the mid-1980's. More
records were apparently found in Adams Co. as described in recent info
below. (I had learned of this McDonald-Carr marriage date 'on my own' by
this time, I was simply inquiring about the source of this record so I could
obtain a copy of the document -- in other words I don't know that anyone
provides look-ups.) Most of you are aware that Brown was formed from parts
of Adams and Clermont Counties in 1817-18.

Info received 5/6/99:
"Marriages from 1803-1833 are in the Probate Court Office. (They will tell
you to contact the Society.) Joseph McDonald and Hannah Carl were issued a
marriage license on 7 Oct 1811. All the marriages have been copied and are
in a book for sale by The Adams County Genealogical Society. Address: Adams
County Genealogical Society, P.O. Box 231, West Union, Ohio 45693."
