Obituary
Departed this life on the 6th instant, at 6 o'clock a.m.
EDA HEWITT, consort of RICHARD HEWITT, JR. on Red Oak, in the
27th year of her age, aftr a painful illness of only 14 hours, supposed to
have been a "congestive inflammation of the brain".
She has left a husband and five small children to feel, and
mourn, in this bereavement, the irreparable loss of a companion
and Mother, in whom were concentrated, all the amiable virtues
...etc.
A Funeral Sermon will be delivered on the occasion by Elder
MATTHEW GARDNER, on the first Friday in March at the house of
RICHARD HEWITT, Senr. on Straight Creek at 12 o'clock p.m.

Administrator's Sale
By virtue of an order of the court of Common Pleas of Brown
County there will be exposed to public sale on the premises,
on the 31st day of March next, 102 acres & 36 poles of land,
situate in Franklin Township, adjoining lands of RICHARD HEWITT
and others, the real estate of ABRAHAM CALVIN, deceased. On
the premises are about 25 acres cleared and well timbered and watered; it
will be sold for not less than one half of the
appraised value, which is six dollars per acre; one third in
one year and one third in two years; the two last payments
secured with bond and security.

Will be sold at Public Sale, on Thursday the 8th of March, at the house of
RICHARD HEWITT, (Senior) in Franklin township, Brown county,
Horses, Cattle, Sheep, all kinds of farming utensils, household
& kitchen furniture, beds & bedding; and many more articles too tedious to
enumerate. A credit of 12 months will be given to purchasers, and notes
with approved security required. The sale
to commence at 10 o'clock a.m. on said day, where due attendance
will be given.
The subscriber also offers for sale, the tract of land whereon
he now resides, containing 150 acres, 90 whereof are cleared
and under good fences--the remaining is well timbered. There
are on said tract about 300 bearing apple trees, and a variety
of other bearing fruit trees, an excellent mill seat, a good
barn, and excellent log house and kitchen, and a never failing
spring. The soil is of an excellent quality. An indisputable
title will be given.
