Listers all and especially Hermon,

I wonder if anyone, Hermon included, has any historical tales or facts about
William Frazier Gaddis of Ripley who married Naomi Sargent of Felicity on
6 Jan 1831. Her father was John Sargent of Bethel and her mother was
Mary Lamb.

William F. Gaddis, b. 8 nov 1809 near Lancaster, PA moved with his family
down the river by flatboat to Ripley in the spring of 1817. Most of what I
know of him comes from Maxwell P. Gaddis' book, Footprints of an
Itinerant.

Naomi Sargent, b. 19 June 1811 in Clermont Co., OH.

I don't know how the Sargents came to be in Clermont Co. nor how they
got there. It would be interesting to know if they were farmers or bankers
or what?

Did the Wm and Naomi Gaddis family live in Clermont or Brown Co. after
marriage? Did they farm?

Wonder what church the Sargents were in? Gaddis was Methodist. How
many other children besides Namoi? Etc.

I have the COLD facts, but would like to put some life into this families bare
bones data.

I have never searched the census data of Clermont Co. for Gaddis or
Sargent so am ignorant of whatever it may reveal. Is it available back that
far?

Is there a Clermont Co. History book which I could or should read?

Sargent was sometimes spelled Seargent.

Any help or advice greatly appreciated...and, Hermon, if you know any
Sargent or Gaddis tales, please pass them on.

Thank you,

Ron Gaddis in Lincoln, NE
