Hello, all. I have put together a short write-up about St. Michael
Church for the gentleman who is in charge of the Archdiocese of
Cincinnati website.

I am confused about when the name of the church was changed from St.
John the Baptist to St. Michael.

The literature provided to me by the church gives (if I am reading it
correctly--it is listed in the block under happenings for 1890) 1890.

However, in the book, "History of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati" on page
151, it says, "The invocation of the saint was changed subsequently to
St. Michael." and a footnote to this information cites a Catholic
Telegraph article from January 18, 1865.

I think it is important because it seems that it was changed, partly
anyway, because some of our Ripley ancestors came from Schonau, Germany
and named the church after the church in Schonau.

Also--I have lost (gosh darn it, anyway) the address of St. Michael so
that I can mail them a copy of the write up for the priest's approval
before sending it into the website. Also, the ph number would be great
because then I can call and see if they will let me take some photos.
If someone can answer my questions OR give me the address of the church
(again) I appreciate it!

Thanks

Buffy
