I want to thank Dick Harris for his answers to my VANDAMENT questions. I
was able to find a description at the url he gave of "Muttontown" that was
almost word for word the same as the description given by Ed Vandament in
his letter -- it even mentioned James as a founder of the town (in the
History of Fayette County, PA). I also appreciated the explanation of
"munden" as meaning the mouth of a river - which explains why several towns
in Germany have the name Gemunden.
