Hello all,
I have about 4 Brown County ancestors with the first or middle name of
THORNTON. So far, I have not found a connection to any of their mother's or
grandmother's names, which is sometimes the case.
I wonder if anyone is researching THORNTON in Brown County, or was there
a man of particular importance for whom these people were named?
Here are the names I have and approximate dates:

Robert Thornton SHICK b 24 Oct 1846 Brown Co.
Thornton VANDAMENT b 10 May 1848 son of John S. of Brown Co.
Thornton SCOTHORN b abt 1840 VA to Pickaway Co, OH
Thornton HANNA b 27 Sep 1836 other members of this family went
to Brown Co.
