Dear Herman,
Thank you so very much for your reply. I am finding out just how
complicated the history of Perry Township/Brown County can be. I
believe that my William Cox must have arrived in Ohio sometime between
1814 and 1817, because I have found that his oldest son was born in New
Jersey (1814), and his next son was born in Ohio (1817). However, the
first land record that has been found was dated 16 September 1818 (in
Clermont County) between William Cox and William & Eliza N. Lytle of
Cincinatti for 100 acres. Then by 1831, William sold some land to James
J. Covalt that was located next to Samuel Cramer/Cranmer in Brown
County. It is fun to look at the old land records, as they state that
the property begins at two oaks and proceeds east one hundred and sixty
poles to two hickories.
Anyway, thank you very much for your great information.
