Wouldn't it be nice if all information were readily available and could be found where it was expected to be? Unfortunately, for various reasons, there are exceptions and discrepancies.
Your Jacob Burris appears in the 1840 census for Eagle twp.
1850 Jacob Burris, age 43, MD, Eagle twp.
1860 Jacob Burris, age 58, PA, Eagle twp. Fincastle, P.O.
1870 Jacob Burress, age 65, MD, Eagle twp. Russelville, P. O.

He does not appear in 1880, but a slightly older John Burris is still living in Eagle twp. He matches closely with earlier census listings. An older Jonathan Burris, born 1771/73 and still living in 1860, appears to be the father of Jacob and John.

Have you looked for information in the local cemeteries near Russelville? Have you found a location where other family members were buried? You may need to inquire directly.

I did find an LDS listing for a Jacob BARRIS, b. 1802, KY; d. 28 Nov 1874 in Pike twp., Brown co., OH. While there are some plausible similarities, there are also significant discrepancies. I did not see census data that indicated a BARRIS family in Brown co.
