Got this off another list and thought it might be of aid to someone so will
pass it on

At http://members.aol.com/rarebk you can go to a surname index to the
rare old Cherokee genealogy book called "Old Cherokee Families and their
Genealogy," and also see a complete index of individuals who sued in the
1800's to claim Cherokee citizenship.

The site also has the 1835 Cherokee Census posted, and a Cherokee
genealogy tutorial posted that shows you how to conduct Cherokee
genealogy research.

The site also has a great number of Civil War and western books, and some
great excerpts from the books.
