I am searching for the descendants of John Charles Ernst and
Caroline Finn of Hamilton, Butler County, Ohio. John Charles Ernst was
born July 1857 in Ohio and died 10 May 1934 in Orange, Indiana. John
Charles and Caroline Finn Ernst had several children, one in particular
that I am most interested in is a Valentine Ernst, who was born April 1,
1882 in Butler County, Ohio. This Valentine Ernst is most mysterious,
for there is a Valentine Finn buried in St. Stephens Cemetery in
Hamilton, Butler County, Ohio that has the exact birth year of 1882 as
Valentine Ernst, and this headstone is located in the Ernst and Finn
family plots of John and Caroline Finn Ernst.

Have received the Death Certificate for Valentine Finn and the
information of birth date April 1, 1882 is the same as the above
Valentine Ernst. Valentine Finn's mother is listed as Caroline Finn, and
father is listed as unknown. A fellow researcher and I agree that
Valentine Finn is also the Valentine Ernst listed above.

After the marriage of Valentine Ernst and Ida Leveline in 1901 and a
divorce soon after the birth of thier son in 1902, Valentine Ernst must
have changed his name to that of his mothers maiden name. Valentine
Ernst/Finn died on 21 AUG 1923. The death certificate also says that
the informant was a Catherine Finn, was this a second wife Valentine
Finn. Would love to hear from anyone that may know of this family.
