Larry:
I know of only searching the recorders files. Most counties have a Grantee
book and a Grantor Book. In starting your search you would start with Larry
Helton in the Grantee book and when you find a deed to you it will tell you
who the grantor is. Then search backwards with that grantor name in the
grantee book, etc, etc, etc. Some counties used the Torrens system filing
system where the various deeds went into a land or parcel folder which
contain any document having to do with that parcel of land. naturally as you
go back in time the land descriptions get larger. sometimes a seperate file
is kept for Goverment grants of land.
I sure you probally already know this. Good luck, Larry Osborne
