Not all of the obituaries or death notices are included in the free online editions published at Cincinnati.Com by The Cincinnati Enquirer and The Cincinnati Post.
Here's a quick guide to what you can find and where:
a.. Major local news, business and sports stories published by The Cincinnati Enquirer, The Cincinnati Post and The Kentucky Post since November 1996 can be searched on the Web at http://www.cincinnati.com/search/. The Enquirer's daily online editions do not always the Tempo section, editorials, guest and syndicated columns, letters, recipes, local briefs or news obituaries.
b.. Death notices for the last week can be searched at http://classifinder.cincinnati.com.
c.. Selected local news obituaries, published in the Post since November 1996, can be browsed at http://www.cincypost.com/search/ and http://www.kypost.com/search/
d.. You can purchase copies of the newspapers from within the last 30 days from our Customer Service Center at 312 Elm St. (513-768-8285)
e.. The last one to two months of The Cincinnati Enquirer and The Cincinnati Post are available at the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County (800 Vine St., downtown; 513-369-6900.
f.. The last three months of The Kentucky Enquirer and The Kentucky Post are available at the Kenton County Library (Fifth and Scott streets, Covington; 606-491-7610.
g.. Microfilm of The Enquirer and The Post, dating back to the mid-19th century, are available to the public at both libraries. To guide your use of the microfilm archives, you can use an electronic index called Newsdex, available at all branches and over the Internet at the library's Web site, http://plch.lib.oh.us/. (If you ask a librarian for a copy an article you've found in Newsdex, you must include the citation number in your request.) If you live outside the Tristate area, welcome! You'll find that your local county and university library reference desks may allow you to search Enquirer archives using online services such as NewsBank or Dialogue.
