My great-grandfather's sister (Catherine Cress Rife) married Jacob M.
Shelhouse (b. 4/Feb/1837). Jacob's father was George Shelhouse (b.
21/May/1799 in Mecklenburg County (now Cabarrus), North Carolina). George's
father was Johannes Schelhass (b. 29/Aug/1756 in Messel, Germany).
Johannes' father was Johann Jacob Schelhass (b. 1692 in Waldeck, Germany).

Are you related to the Shelhouses?
