The National Genealogy Society is here in Arlington, Virginia. I joined
in the mid-1990s but am no longer a member. I found that their
newsletter/journal was very professional and informative in that it
regularly evaluated genealogy computer programs and had many interesting
case study articles which demonstrated research techniques and source
analysis. I did not take any of the courses because I found they were
too expensive for my wallet especially when I could use their library or
NARA in Washington, DC.
