Subject: [OHCARROL] OHCARROL - "The Big Brick" in Perry Twp
Date: Sat, 9 Oct 1999 14:35:04 EDT
Hello Carroll County Listers,
Does anyone know how I can find out the current owner, as well as the
'history' of ownership, for an old brick farmhouse on "Pomona Rd.", a
secondary gravel road, which comes to a "V" intersection with Rt 164
(Amsterdam Rd.) in Perry Twp. near Perrysville ? I've been told this house
is referred to locally as "The Big Brick" and it is probably at least 100
years old if not older. It doesn't appear that the current owner is living
there or that it is particularly 'inhabitable' in its current condition,
although someone planted a field of corn, mows the yard, and pays the
electric bill (small electric candles in the road-side windows) !
I have a 'theory' that this house and property may have long-ago belonged to
the Trushell family.
Any info greatly appreciated !

P.S. Does anyone know if the "Peter Trushell Cemetery" (referenced as being
in Carroll Co. in 1921) still exists, and if so, where it is ???
P.P.S. If someone drowned in a river in northern Harrison Co. or southern
Carroll Co. in 1869, which river might that be ???
