I sent this message to the Worley list and I am posting to this list
with the hope that someone will be able to help identify this family and
assist with info about Belinda's parents.
Hello! I am researching my husband's father's Worley line and not
getting too far. We have Belinda Worley who married George Finefrock 1
Mar 1852 in Carroll County, Ohio probably Rose Township.
A newspaper article about my husband's great uncle, Price Janson, an
attorney from Canton, Ohio, mentions his "grandfather" (probably
great-grandfather), Akey Worley who ran a tavern and his wife who was
credited with having played a large part in the development of
the school system (Stark County, I think). I am overseas and my notes
are in storage. I can't recall all the details. My father-in-law
remembers there was a Hoke Worley in the family, possibly an uncle. I
have seen a reference to Hoke Worley (listed as having served in the
Civil War) on the Carroll County, OH list.
If any of this sounds familiar to anyone, I'd appreciate any insight or
additional information.
I read the following post from Don Kear with interest:
Researching Catharine WORLEY, d. bef 26 Jan 1796, Shenendoah Co., VA.
Married
Johann Henry AKER bef 6 May 1766 (when 3rd child was born), York Co.,
PA. I
have information on about their children, but need all information on
her and
her parents.
Is this Aker where the Achor, Akey Worley comes from? I have seen
several references to various
Achor and Akey Worleys.
Thanks!
