The following has been retyped by Kristi Mast and Elsie Troyer from bad
xerox
copies made from an unknown book.

In the year 1650 two brothers and a sister of the Roudebush family
emigrated from
Amsterdam, Holland, to America and located at New York City, then a
quaint little Dutch
village. There they remained until 1666, when they removed to Frederick
County,
Maryland. In Holland they were merchants, reputed to be wealthy. In
America they
followed merchandising until their removal to the Maryland colony, when
they became
farmers and owners of several large mills.
One of their descendants, Jacob, who was born in Pennsylvania, probably
near the
Maryland border, in 1724, had four sons, Daniel (1749), Abraham (1751),
David (1758),
George (1761). From this Roudebush colony in Frederick County,
Maryland, some
emigrated to Virgina; thence to Washington County, Pennsylvania; thence
to Carroll
County, Ohio; others to Adams County, Pennsylvania; thence to Hamilton
County, Ohio,
near Harrison. The oldest son, Daniel (1749)-(1804), married Christina
Snively, of
Pennsylvania, who was of Dutch descent and a niece of Dr. Snively, one
of the most
celebrated physicians in the colonies at that time. In 1796 Daniel,
with his family,
emigrated to BryantÂ’s Station, Ky., where he remained until 1799, when
he purchased five
hundred acres near Owensville, Clermont County, Ohio. He died October
3, 1804, from
the effects of exposure while lost in the woods the previous December.
The following are
descendants of this Daniel.
For the purposes of reference, each member has been given a number.
The sign
(+) preceding a name indicates that the name occurs later as the head
of a family. The
figures following the name indicate the generation number.
