Dear List:
I am sure I represent a lot of silent participants on this list when I
say that I am really SICK of virus warnings on genealogy lists unless
they are put on the list by the LIST OWNER. Did you Paul Revere
wannabe's know that there are hundreds of virus in the world that can
KILL YOU (the human?) Better stay inside and breathe filtered air, or
you might get reallllly sick..... oooooooo!

Some people act as though computer virus is new or uncommon, when they
are around a lot. There are a lot of hazards in life and we take
precautions.

1) We dont try to walk through closed doors
2) We use the fuzzy end of the toothbrush
3) We hold the wooden part of the knife
4) We sit in the front seat of the car if you are the driver
5) We don't breathe and swallow at the same time
6) We don't call our spouses by an old lover's name
7) WE GET A COMPUTER VIRUS PROGRAM AND USE IT PROPERLY
8) We use MacIntosh, which is imune to 95% of virussss
9) We NEVER open attachments from people we don't know.

Please don't come scampering to the list when you think you have
discovered something really new. Chances are great that if you did not
create a virus, that you are certainly far from the first to receive it.

Take precautions and let others do so too. But don't bother us with
inane emails (like this one) that serve nothing to the list but a waste
of good time. And if you get some sort of public service boost from this
sort of thing, why not work in a hospital or library where you can
really do something for someone.
Sorry.... I hope this assists the quality of the list to improve a notch.
If not, may the great list owner in the sky remain virus free and detach
me from this mortal list... banishment.... alas
Peter
