Many people of Carroll County and Tuscarawas Cnty have been so helpful with
my questions. Many of the Everhart/Carnes/ and Sherrod have roots in both
counties. This addendum to my prior queries has also been posted to the
Tuscarawas County list.
I wish to thank everyone for all of the help and guidance I''ve received
from many people in trying to locate the parents of Charles
Everhard/Everhart/Eberhart (I've seen it spelled all of those ways) who
married Nancy Carnes on 8 Oct 1850 in Tuscarawas Cnty.
Charles was shown to be 29 in the 1860 census and 39 in the 1870 census and
49 in the 1880 census.
I was referred to the family of Jacob Everhard, shown living in Warren Twp.,
Tusc. Co., in the 1850 census as the probable father of Charles.
Following is the entry for the 1850 census. Does this family ring a bell
with anyone? Thank you.
Warren Twp. Tusc. Co. 1850 census entry:
Jacob Everhard 47, Carpenter, Md
Margarett, 41, Va.
Charles 19, O.
Mary 17, O.
Thomas 13, O.
Margarett A. 11, O.
Eliza 8, O.
Reasin 5, O.
Leonard 2, O.
Many of the Carnes and Sherrod and Pennick families were living in the
immediate area and some in Union Twp. just below Warren Twp.
I have seen Jacob's name shown as J. Jacob Everhart and believe that
Margarett (the daughter) may have married a William Bovard in June of 1861,
in Tuscarawas Cnty.
If the above facts remind anyone of any family connections I might follow,
please let me know.
Thanks again for everyone's help. Bob Budman
