Hello,

I'm wondering if anyone has any further information on the ancestors of
John Jarvis. The information I have is that he was born in 1829 in
Jefferson County although I have found him in Carroll County during the 1880
census. Finding record of him prior to that has proved extremely
frustrating. His wife was named Emaline. Her last name was supposedly
Toalston although I have not been able to find that surname in the Ohio
census records so the spelling may be incorrect. They had the following
children (w/ approximate birth dates):

William Toalston (1857)
Samuel George (1860)
James Shannon (1861)
Thomas S. (1865)
Margaret Ellen (1868)
Laura Bell (1876)
Mary (1881)

William Toalston is my great grandfather. He was married first to Elizabeth
Balsley (b. 1851, d. 1882) and then to Isa Dora Jewell (b. 1864, d. 1924).
William and Isa Dora had the following children:

Emaline (1886)
Samuel H. (1888)
John S. (1890)
Cora Bell (1892)
Mary Anna (1895)
Elizabeth Jane (1898)
Thomas Owen (1902)
Herman (1906)

Herman is my grandfather on my mother's side. If anyone has any other
information on John Jarvis (including his whereabouts prior to 1880 and his
father's identity) I would very much appreciate it.
