Rebecca Chenoweth-both dec'd. Exc: son William Safley; wit: Hiram
Doty, John Owens--will signed 2 Feb 1838.

William Safly/Safley b 7 Oct 1787 Va, d after 1870 Woodstock, Goshen
Twp, Champaign Co, IL.

William Safby m Mary Beaty 26 Feb 1817 Champaign Co, OH

William Safly/Saffly/Safely/Safley is listed 820, 1830, 1840,
1850 Mechanicburg, Goshen Twp, Champaign Co, OH.

In 1860 William Safly (73, gunsmith Va)is in Champaign Co, IL in the
hh of James Umphanour/Umbenhower & wife Elizabeth. Was
James' wife Elizabeth a Safley?? James' brother Samuel Sr
Umbenhower m Julia Ann Spencer 1840 Champaign Co, IL.
Julia came to IL with 2 of her sisters who m James & Isaac
Yazel/Yeazel. James & Samuel's mother Mary is there in 1850
(prob widow/o John Umphanour??).

In 1870 William Safly is 83 in the hh of Joel Burnside 67 Va, Corilla
51 OH, William 28 OH; and Annie Williams 8 OH. What relation-
ship is Joel & Corilla Burnside to William??

Don't have Champ. Co mgs after 1820 so can't check the mgs.
Had children in the censuses of Champ. Co, OH. By 1850 has
Matilda 21 & Henry S. 19 (shoemaker) both born OH.

Would like to know if Elizabeth Umphanour & Corilla Burnside
were William Safly's daus???

Mary Beaty Safly d 1851-1859 Mechanicburg, Champ. Co, OH
as she did not go to Champ. Co, IL with William.

The Henry Safly/etc & the Henry Rudicil/Rudisill Family came to
Champaign/Clark Co from York Co, PA. The Safly/etc passed
through Va before coming to OH.

Any help would be appreciated!!!
